Limit your distractions…
I have a monkey mind. I am easily bored, distracted and prone to entertaining different emotions even if there’s no merit to entertain them.
In the past, I would cure this boredom either by doing something productive or doing something really useless.
I have come a long way and although I have tamed my monkey mind a little, it is an on-going slow process that I undertake every day.
Here’s what I am doing:
- Limit your exposure to social media. I am not saying stay away although I have done that before (uninstalling all my socmed apps), what I am saying is limit your use and exposure. I have an app called AppBlock that blocks any app depending on the times that you set.
- Counter distraction with distraction, do things that you love and make your heart full.
- Meditate, do mindful meditation and just like how I learned it, you can start with noticing just one breath.
By limiting your distraction you can be more productive, you’ll feel more accomplished and you can take control of your time.
A word of caution, don’t be a programmed robot, adapt, forgive yourself and move on and most of all, have fun.
Be happy!
